FRENCH LANGUAGE Book. This book presents, in the form of a guide, the flight uniforms and equipment used on the European front by American aviators between August 1942, the date of the first bombing mission over France, and May 1945. Through hundreds of archival photos and detailed artefacts, this new, expanded edition presents the evolution of this equipment, the mix of American and British equipment, the modifications made in the field, and the latest technical innovations. At the end of the book, reconstructions depict the silhouettes of these aviators who contributed, from the sky, to the liberation of Europe.
