The reconnaissance screen and border surveillance mission of the 2nd Armoured Cavalry Regiment assigned to VII (US) Corps, and 11th Armoured Cavalry Regiment assigned to V (US) Corps, along the Iron Curtain, the intra-German border, consisted of the following tasks: To monitor the movements and activities of East German border troops and Warsaw Pact forces in the area close to the border, reconnaissance and early detection of approaching or deploying Warsaw Pact forces, and initiation of appropriate alarm measures, showing the flag against possible enemy coup d’état actions using one’s own firepower for delaying, wearing down and, if possible, destroying the enemy’s attacking forces. This publication shows the vehicles of the two Armoured Cav regiments in impressive and hitherto mostly unpublished photos taken during their mission and on exercises, 1948-94.

UK STANDARD DELIVERY

Priority orders are prioritised throughout the dispatch process, picked first and sent via RM24 Tracked. Royal Mail do not guarantee delivery times, but orders placed this way tend to arrive substantially quicker than standard.
INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY
Once items are placed in your basket, the website will calculate the delivery charge for your order, dependent on country, and any surcharges we would be charged within the UK at the point of despatch. This does not include any charges made in the country of delivery at the time of delivery. We aim to deliver your order within the delivery times stated, Europe 7-10 days, Worldwide, 15-20 days, these are provided as an indication only, we often find deliveries are much quicker than estimated.
