French Language Book. On April 14, the Russian missile cruiser Moskva was sunk in the Black Sea by Ukrainian R-360 Neptune missiles fired from the coast. It is then the largest warship sunk in combat since the Second World War, since indeed slightly exceeding, in displacement as in length, the Argentine General Belgrano torpedoed during the Falklands War. Flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the Moskva belonged to the Slava class, or Project 1164 Atlant, designed during the time of the USSR to carry imposing anti-ship missiles with the main mission of sinking American aircraft carriers. Of the seven units planned, four will be launched after many setbacks and delays, and only three will enter service. Currently, two modernized units are still in operation.

To present the Slava class, its technical specificities and its history, Benjamin Gravisse is at work. Host of the redsamovar.com blog, he is an expert on Soviet and Russian military equipment. The book will be richly illustrated with period photos and 3D views.
