The Italian Air Force in Abyssinia were opposed by South African Air Force fighter squadrons operating Furies, Gladiators, Gauntlets, Hurricane Mk. Is and Mohawks. After this campaign, the Italians would rate the operations of this effective force as close to the top of the list of reasons why they lost their East African Empire.This volume contains 80 pages, 23 full-color plates, 9 colorized camouflage schemes and 139 black and white photos, indicating the people and aircraft operated by these squadrons.
