The author draws on a wide range of Bahraini sources and UK archives, and photographer Katsuhiko Tokunga provides a series of dramatic images of aircraft in action in Bahrain today. The book covers Bahrain's role as a staging post in the development of long distance air travel in the 1920s, it's role during World War II, the activities of the post-war British air bases, the formation of the Royal Bahraini Air Force in 1976, and the RBAF's role in the Gulf War of 1991.
