This book Lent�v�t Ritarit, literally means Flying Knights and covers nineteen airmen, who won the Mannerheim Cross. It includes a compact and detailed biography based on archive research.
The Mannerheim Cross was the highest military award in Finland, which was not dependent of the rank or post of the nominee. This decoration was given to 191 soldiers (of a half million man army) and the airmen represented 10 per cent of the total.
